At present, the global new energy vehicle (NEV) industry is at a critical juncture of rapid technological iteration, international standard restructuring, and deep cross-border industrial integration. China and Europe, as the world's two most important core markets and technological hubs for NEVs, possess highly complementary strengths and tremendous cooperation potential in vehicle R&D, electrification systems (batteries, motors, and power electronics), charging infrastructure, low-carbon compliance, and circular economy.
With the full implementation of new EU regulations—including the AFIR (Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation), Battery Passport Management System, and Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)—Chinese NEV exports to Europe have comprehensively transitioned from the traditional product-export phase to a new development stage characterized by technology adaptation, standard mutual recognition, compliance operations, and co-construction of localized supply chains.To further promote high-quality China-Europe NEV cooperation, deepen technical exchanges, break down standard barriers, and empower Chinese enterprises' global expansion, the 3rd Europe-China New Energy Vehicle Technology Conference 2026, hosted by ATC Automotive Technology Center and building on the success of the previous two editions, will be held in Munich, Germany, on September 3–4, 2026.
